It was reported that opening ceremony for Chenzhou week of the ninth China (Beijing) Garden Expo was held on October 25, 2013 in Beijing.

Xiang Lili- Secretary of Chenzhou Municipal Party Committee announced the opening of Chenzhou week. Zhou Yingchun- Member of Chenzhou Municipal Party Committee Standing Committee and Director of Chenzhou Municipal Ministry of Propaganda delivered the greeting words in the ceremony. Zhang Yangping- Deputy Mayor of Chenzhou City hosted the opening ceremony.

Ninth China ( Beijing ) International Garden Expo " was with the theme of “green Symphony , flourishing garden" on the basis of green low-carbon environmental protection concept. More than 106 cities and institutions from domestic and abroad were attracted there to build 128 fined exhibition parks. It is an expo with largest amount of attendants, largest scale and widest influence compared with earlier ones.

Chenzhou city is on the process of establishing national garden city. It was purposely to show Chenzhou city’s social development, landscapes, folk culture, history and featured products by building the exhibition park in this expo and holding Chenzhou week activity.

Chenzhou city was used to be called “Lin Yi” which means“forest in the city” and was famous as “the eighteenth blessing city of China”. In order to highlight the features of Chenzhou city, Chenzhou park established in the expo was focused on showing the feature of Chenzhou city’s blessing mountain, water, folk culture, etc. Chenzhou city is also famous as one of the training bases of Chinese women volleyball team. A special sculpture with the theme of Chinese women volleyball team’s achievements was set in Chenzhou park of this expo accordingly.

Followed with the key theme to show the World Intangible Cultural Heritage- Hunan Kunqu Opera, different kinds of activities were handled out during Chenzhou week period. It was comprehensively to propaganda and promote the landscapes of Chenzhou city, such as Suxianling- Wanhuayan national landscape, Dongjiang lake national landscape, Hunan Mangshan National Forest Park, Rucheng Reshui Hot Spring, Hunan Jiulongjiang National Forest Park, Hunan Stone Exhibition Park, Hunan Baoshan Mining Park, etc.

This opening ceremony was naming after Chenzhou Qiantong Real Estate Company. Liu Yizhen who is one of the famous youth singers carried out public performance there. Some volleyball players and other atheists attended the opening ceremony as well.

It was introduced that Chenzhou week of the ninth China (Beijing) Garden Expo will be last for this October 27.
