It was learned Guidong county’s tourism department that Guidong county was selected in the list of “China’s 100 Deep Breath Counties”. This result was released on the forth summit forum for China’s ecological tourism industry development which was held in Shenzhen city. “Fairy bridge, ancient path and hemlock” were the key fames for Guidong county to win the title.It was the exclusive one from Chenzhou city. Other four counties as Yanling, Chengbu, Tongdao and Taoyuan were from Hunan province.

“Deep breath county” refers to the county which is with fresh air and suitable for traveling without haze. The assessment criteria for this list were as follow: high forest and plantation coverage, high rate for days with excellent air condition, high content of negative oxygen ion in the living area, high level of greening, comfort and aesthetics in main landscapes, high level construction on ecological construction and promotion of low-carbon development, and low influence by dust-haze weather.

Followed with the strategy to improve the county on the basis of greening and ecological work, Guidong county placed great efforts on the promotion of establishment of “heaven of fitness and summer resort”. Batches of Chenzhou municipal level demonstration towns and villages of greening and Chenzhou municipal and Hunan provincial level garden units were established in Guidong county. Some ecological production bases of tea, bamboo, Chinese herbal, seedling and etc. were improved in the county, which helped to forge some green industrial demonstration projects of “10-thousand mu sight viewing tea garden”, “100-li seedling gallery”, and etc. Furthermore, rare wild fauna and flora species were full of Hunan provincial geological park- Bamianshan National Natural Conservation Area. Qiyun mountain, Qingexian mountain, Wanyangxiangsi grasslands, Longxi fall, Fairy bridge and some other beautiful and unique sceneries attracted many visitors’ eyes to travel to Guidong county.
