When reporters arrived at the Dongjiangwan Aquatic Center of Zixing city, the 500-meter straightway for our festival- Dragon Boat Festival- Qu Yuan Cup”- first Hunan mass dragon boat contest had been completed. Workers were busy on further decoration and clearing work on the site. Two teams which would attend the contest were training hard there as well. The team members’ shouting seemed to lead the reporters to the contest site.

According to the time schedule, 15 dragon boat teams from Chenzhou city, Hengyang city and Yongzhou city would fight for this preliminary match on this May 31, 2014 to win 3 qualifications for the final. 2 teams from Zixing city, 2 team from Yongxing county and 1 team from Anren county would attend this contest on behalf of Chenzhou city.

It was learned from the organizing committee of preliminary matches that 4 new dragon boats were in place, logistical supporting work was figured out with specified security arrangement, live broadcasting work with Hunan City Channel was communicated well, volunteers were selected out and judges were confirmed as well.

Zhou Yingchun- Member of Chenzhou Municipal Party Committee Standing Committee and Minister of Chenzhou Propaganda Department stated on the on-site scheduling conference that all relative departments should pay closer attention on further checking of the preparation work in the last days. She emphasized that all organization, service, security, propaganda and coordination work should be operated well to ensure the contest to be held successfully.
