When reporters arrived at Huijing Modern Agricultural Ecotourism Garden of Xiaojiao town, Jiahe county, many visitors has gathered there though in this hot season. The key attractive reason for the visitors was the “eco-watermelon”produced there.

Focusing on the target to be upgraded as the “boutique town of integration of village and town in south Hunan”, Xiaojia town tried great efforts on the establishment of its core brand of ecological tourism and improvement of infrastructure construction to promote the development of tourism industry. 120million yuan has been placed on the first phase of Huijing Modern Agricultural Ecotourism Garden which has been finished yet. Over one million seedlings of more than 120 species were cultivated there, which helped to upgrade it as the biggest base of sakura, waxberry and flowering shrub in Hunan province. The first village tourism festival was held successfully in Xiaojia town in last March, which attracted over ten thousands visitors there.

A new project of Jinling Modern Ecological Science Park was settled down in the town in 2014, which was knee on ecological construction. Some rare seedlings and birds were planned to introduce into the park, which was purposely to be established as the biggest scientific research base of flora and fauna in Hunan province. Furthermore, in order to facilitate local people with some more leisure spaces, a 25mu big Sakura Square with over 4million yuan investment was built in the town. Some small gardens were built in the administrative villages of the town as well. At the meantime, enhanced projects construction work and propaganda work were handled out in the town to promote its development of ecological tourism industry, and finally promote local economic development. It planned to hold another tourism festival in near future.
