According to list of 2014 first batch traditional villages with central government’s financial support released by the State Housing and Urban-rural Construction Ministry, Culture Ministry, Cultural Relics Bureau and Finance Ministry, 6 Chinese traditional villages of Chenzhou city were covered into the list. 5 ones were from Guiyang county, ranking the first place of Chenzhou city.

Traditional village refers to the village which is with tangible and non-tangible cultural heritages which were with high historic, cultural, scientific, art, social and economic value. The 6 villages from Chenzhou city covered in the list were as follow: Weijia village of Longtan street, Dijie village of Taihe town, Miaoxia village of Yangshi town, Dawan village of Liantang town and Wang’s village of Heye town which were from Guiyang county and Banliang village of Gaoting town from Yongxing county.

According to “comments on the promotion of protection of Chinese traditional villages”issued by the State Housing and Urban-rural Construction Ministry, Culture Ministry, Cultural Relics Bureau and Finance Ministry in this April, the central government’s finance would integrate some rewards and capitals to support the protection Chinese traditional villages annually.
