It was learned from Chenzhou Tourism Bureau that the tourism and cultural festival which was handled in Chenzhou city successfully for years have become a tradition of Chenzhou tourism industry and a famous name card for the economic and social development of Chenzhou city and Chenzhou image.
It was introduced by the principal of Chenzhou Tourism Bureau that after holding the first Chenzhou Landscapes Tourism Festival successfully in 1997, Chenzhou Municipal Party Committee and Chenzhou Government decided to hold ecological tourism festival from 2000 which was carried out as a significant measure for the promotion of Chenzhou city’s opening up. From 2000-2007, the ecological tourism festival was kept to be handled in Chenzhou city every year. Those 8 festivals greatly helped to integrate the tourism resources, propaganda tourism image and popularize the fame of Chenzhou city. China Chenzhou ecological festival was awarded as “top 50” of festivals of China in 2005, which indicated that it became an influential festival brand of China.
In 2011, in accord with the new positioning of Chenzhou tourism of “city in the forest, leisure city”, Chenzhou Municipal Party Committee and Chenzhou Government handled out the first Chenzhou “City in the Forest, Leisure City” International Leisure Tourism and Cultural Festival. In 2012, it undertook the opening ceremony of 2012 China Hunan International Tourism Festival with the vein of “water” and theme of “meeting in Hunan, enjoying beauty of Dongjiang lake”. In 2013, it held the third China Chenzhou International Leisure Tourism and Cultural Festival with the theme of mining culture which was seldom to see worldwide and successfully helped to forge a new unique tourism brand of Chenzhou city. All those helped to popularize the fame of “city in the forest, leisure city” international leisure tourism and cultural festival brand.
