980 tour pals took this self-challenge

“50-kms hiking, we did it.”when the couple Hu Haijian and Shan Hongbo who were members of Hengdong Happy Outdoor Club arrived at the end of the activity – 50-kms hiking in Rucheng Jiulongjiang Forest Park, they kissed each other to celebrate the victory. All the tour pals who attended the first Xiang-Yue -Gan Jiulongjiang 50-kms Hiking & Hot Spring Outdoor Festival were moved by the couple.

It was learned that this contest as held by Hunan Provincial and Chenzhou Mountaineering Association, Administrative Center of Rucheng Jiulongjiang National Forest Park, Rucheng Reshui Fuquan Villa, and some other units. Over 980 tour pals from 25 outdoor clubs of Hunan province, Guangdong province, Jiangxi province, Shenzhen city, and Guizhou city attended the contest. The oldest contestant was 58-year-old, while the youngest was just 14-year-old. Competition group and experiencing group were divided for this contest which started from the south gate of Jiulongjiang National Forest Park and ended at Hot Spring Square of Reshui town. Chuanghui International Team from Rucheng county won the first place by finishing the whole trip with 5 hours and 5minutes.

Peng Deshou who was from Hengyang city suffered with cramp when he hiked to 26kms part of this trip. All his team members were still with him to conquer this difficulty and finish the whole trip. As he talked to the reporters: “we just want to attend the activity to join in national fitness program, rather than win titles.” Li Biao who was from Guizhou city said: “it is so beautiful along the trip- high mountains, red leaves, falls, and other splendid sceneries. We will come to Jiulongjiang National Forest Park again if time is available.”
