On June 30, 2015, the development and promotion conference for Chenzhou cultural tourism industry was held in Chenzhou city. It was stated on the conference that the cultural tourism industry should be promoted as the leading industry for further development of Chenzhou city; more attention should be placed on marketing planning, establishing image, expanding influence and forming trademark; and the promotion for the integration of culture and tourism should be accelerated as well. Yi Pengfei- Secretary of Chenzhou Municipal Party Committee delivered an important speech there. Qu Hai- Deputy Secretary of Chenzhou Municipal Party Committee and Mayor of Chenzhou City delivered the working report. Gao Yangxian- Deputy Director of Hunan Provincial Tourism Bureau attended the conference and gave a speech there.

The attendees of the conference visited Chenzhou World’s Non-ferrous Metal Museum and the construction site of Feitianshan live-action performance project before the conference. In recent years, Chenzhou city followed the strategic positioning of “city in the forest, leisure city” with the target of establishing strong tourism city and core of improving key landscapes and leisure tourism products, which formed a sound trend for the promotion of the tourism industry. In 2014, over 33million tourists were accepted by Chenzhou and its total tourism income was amounted to 24billion yuan. Chenzhou became one of the important poles on the tourism economy plate of Hunan province. Tourism industry plays a more important role on the contribution of economic and social development.

Yi stated that cultural tourism industry is the “two-oriented industry” for stable increase, is the “sunrise industry”with strong leading power, and is “enriching people’s industry”with strong joint power, so the cultural tourism industry should be improved as the leading industry for further development of Chenzhou city.

Yi stated that more attention should be placed on marketing planning, establishing image, expanding influence and forming trademark for the cultural tourism industry; the work on the promotion of Chenzhou city’s tourism image and more powerful propaganda should be carried out with higher level to expand Chenzhou city’s tourism influence; more conditions should be created to attract more visitors and grant them with impressive image of Chenzhou city; the awareness of tourism development should be enhanced to integrate more tourism elements on the construction of urban city, projects and new rural, especially on highlighting south Hunan folk dwelling style and Chenzhou regional features; and the consumption, market and development should be improved by the improvement of cultural tourism industry.

Yi pointed out that culture and tourism should be improved comprehensively rather than “two different skins”. Culture is the spirit of tourism, while tourism is the body of culture. If no culture, there would be no internal force and vitality for the tourism. On the other hand, if no support of tourism, there would be no tension and life force for the culture. It should crate the image, enhance the connotation and upgrade the quality by the integrative development of culture and tourism; should attract the visitors with advantageous and special tourism resources; and should introduce more people to settle down there with excellent and characteristic culture. The development of culture and tourism should be promoted together. More attention should be placed on the exploration of Chenzhou city’s regional culture, ethnic culture and folk culture to create more cultural works with regional features and form the typical format of “viewing natural landscape during day time, and enjoying performance at night”.

Yi emphasized high attention should be placed on the cultivation and support of market entities and development entities to promote the marketization, enterprization and industrialization of cultural tourism industry’s development. The cultural creation should be followed the way of market-oriented; the cultural industry should try to cultivate strong entity industry and pay more attention on the introduction, cultivation and support of enterprises. The investment attraction work for cultural tourism should be enhanced to introduce more powerful, influential and credit demonstration enterprises to settle down in Chenzhou city. Series leading enterprises should be cultivated to improve cultural tourism industry to be the mainstay industry and leading industry of Chenzhou city.

Qu Hai stated that the practical development situation of Chenzhou city’s cultural tourism industry should be analyzed comprehensively to figure out the trend of its current cultural tourism industry development; the situation of the tourism industry development should be well understood, and the new ideas for the development of tourism industry should be set up to innovate the concepts of special development , popular tourism and integration of industries.

Qu required that the transformation and upgrading of Chenzhou city’s cultural tourism should be accelerated; the guidance on tourism planning should be enhanced; tourism reform should be deepened; the establishment of tourism should be accelerated; the integration development of tourism and upgrading of its quality should be promoted; the propaganda work should be well handled; and the tourism development should be enhanced to ensure the aggregation force.

Qu required that the preparation work for 2015 China (Hunan) Red Tourism and Culture Festival and China Chenzhou (International) Leisure Tourism and Culture Festival should be promoted well. The activity solution should be perfected and coordination cooperation should be enhanced to promote their progresses and ensure all the two festivals to be handled out with high level and unique features.

The advanced units for the assessment of 2014 Chenzhou tourism economy development target management were awarded on the conference. Rucheng county, Suxian district and Guidong county presented their speeches there.

Zhang Xihui- Member of Chenzhou Municipal Party Committee Standing Committee and Minister of Propaganda Department of Chenzhou Municipal Party Committee hosted the conference. He Jianxiang –Deputy Mayor of Chenzhou City read out the award notice.
