It was reported that in the morning of July 15, 2015, the 15th Wanhuayan Watermelon Festival was opened. Li Xiping- Deputy Director of Chenzhou Municipal People’s Congress was present at the opening ceremony and announced the opening of the festival. Li Zhikun- Vice Chairman of Chenzhou Municipal CPPCC attended the opening ceremony.

It was introduced that Wanhuayan Water Mellon Festival was launched in 2000, once every year. It was purposely to propaganda local tourism resources and popularize the watermelon brand of Wanhuayan. At the meantime, it would be helpful to propaganda Chenzhou city and promote the development of rural and tourism economy. As one of the characteristic annual festivals of Chenzhou city, Wanhuayan Watermelon Festival attract great amount of local residents and visitors from other places.
