The seminar for development of Chenzhou city’s tourism was held in Chenzhou People’s Hall on November 5, 2015. Wei Xiao’an- the famous tourism expert was invited to deliver a speech there to give some advices to Chenzhou city’s development of tourism industry. The topic of his speech is “godsend Chenzhou, colorful world”. Yi Pengfei- Secretary of Chenzhou Municipal Party Committee hosted the seminar and listened to the report.

Wei Xiao’an- Director of World Tourism Cities Federation, Deputy Director of China Leisure Standardization Technical Committee, and Secretary-general China Tourism Association Leisure and Vocation Branch is one of the experts who studied tourism firstly in China.

After visiting Suxianling, Dongjiang Lake and some other landscapes, Wei Xiao’an was amazed by Chenzhou city’s profound cultural connotation and grace natural sceneries. On his 2-hour lecture, Wei Xiao’an comprehensively analyzed the exploration and development of Chenzhou city’s tourism resources from unique perspective. Some new views as “colorful Chenzhou feeling, five stars Chenzhou travel, colorful landscape, culture, countryside, mine, life, and etc.” were fresh to all listeners. Wei Xiao’an shared his ideas on the practical condition of Chenzhou tourism development, analyzed the features of Chenzhou tourism resources, location advantages, and strategic choice from the view of tourism. At the meantime, he presented some advices on the improvement of Chenzhou red tourism, urban tourism, rural tourism, leisure tourism, ecology tourism, hot spring tourism, and etc.

Wei Xiao’an stated that Chenzhou city’s tourism industry began to take shape and the transformation upgrading is the only road for its further development.

Wei Xiao’an considered that Chenzhou city should follow the target of “establishing international top level tourism resort”to activate the city by tourism and improve the city by passion; should take the best advantages of tourism resources to improve the mixed mode development and form the great tourism pattern with sightseeing tourism, culture tourism, leisure tourism, commercial tourism, rural tourism and special tourism; and should focus on tourism industry to promote the development of primary industry, secondary industry and tertiary industry, transportation construction, city construction, forestry, culture, propaganda, public security, and etc. Tourism aggregation force should be placed as the core and all efforts should be tried on the breakthrough development of tourism industry.

Yi Pengfei emphasized that Professor Wei’s lecture presented a totally new view for the development of tourism industry, all listeners should try to understand it comprehensively and take all the theories into practice. Yi also emphasized that cultural tourism industry should be improved as one of the mainstay industries of the increase of Chenzhou economy by enhancing the exploration and core competitiveness of tourism products; the tourism brand “godsend China, different Chenzhou”should be established by promoting special tourism, expanding tourism industry and optimizing service; both government and market’s functions should well played to perfect the infrastructures and introduce and cultivate more tourism entities; and the multi-forces of cultural tourism industry should be formed to promote the tourism industry together.
