The assessment team for national wetland park highly appraised Yangtian Lake

It was reported that from Nov. 13-14, 2015,Yan Chenggao- Deputy Director of Administration Center of the State Forestry Wetland Protection led an assessment team to investigate Yangtian Lake’s establishment of national wetland park. All the team members highly appraised Yangtian Lake’s unique features on its whole range and length.

The investigation team visited Xifengdu station, Gangjiao Wetland Park, Matoulin Lanwang Temple, Sanhe village of Huatang town, and some other places along Xihe river by walk or tour bus. They were impressed by green mountains, ancient trees, clear water, fields, and other graceful natural ecological environment of Yangtian Lake and were delightful for Chenzhou city’s great efforts on the establishment of Yangtian Lake national wetland park.

The team members listened to the working report and general plan for Chenzhou city’s establishment of Yangtian Lake national wetland park on the evaluation conference and presented some comments on the work. The team considered that it is significant for the protection of Xihe river and its source’s wetland ecology, maintenance of Dongting Lake’s basin ecology and water quality and promotion of ecological civilization construction by establishing Yangtian Lake national wetland park. It also highly affirmed Chenzhou Municipal Party Committee and Chenzhou Government’s great efforts on the promotion of the establishment work. It suggested that more attention should be placed on top-level design, perfection of general plan, accurate of plan positioning, plan layout, management, investment and propaganda to ensure the application to be approved successfully.

According to the plan, Yangtian Lake national wetland park includes Xihe river which is the branch of Leishui- the upstream of Xiangjiang river and its source- Yangtian Lake mountain wetland and surround areas, covering 67 villages of 14 towns and counties of Beihu district, Suxian district, Guiyang county and Yongxing county. It mainly consists of lake wetland- Yangtian Lake, river wetland- Xihe river, marsh wetland- Yangtian Lake area, and artificial wetland- rice field, accounting for 1578 hectares. Conservation zone, reconversion zone, propaganda zone, rational utilization zone and service zone would be set for the park. It was purposely to forge it to be a national characteristic wetland park with comprehensive ecological system and strong ecological function by handling the protection of wetland and biodiversity and reasonable utilization of wetland.
