It was learned from the evaluation conference of national forest park of the State Forestry Bureau that Jiahe county’s application for establishment of national forest park was approved by all 23 experts, which indicated Jiahe county’s 3-year efforts on the establishment work was paid off.

It was introduced that Jiahe National Forest Park is located in the interior of middle part of north Nanling Mountain. It consists of two areas of Nanling and Jiulaofeng, covering 4922.89 hectares. The forest coverage of it is 83.62%. There are 1208 species of 700 categories, 195 families available there, including 9 national key preserved wild plants and 15 Hunan provincial key preserved plants. 16 of them are orchid. It is a comprehensive tourism destination integrated with mountains, waters, folk custom, religion, leisure and vacation, and it is real “green lung” and “urban oxygen bar”.

As considered by the experts group, Jiahe National Forest Park is in the subarea of downtown with convenient transportation and with different advantages of location, geography, landform and transportation, and etc.; it is with profound cultural connotation such as “falling to Jiahe”, “establishing county in rice warehouse”, “teaching farming by Shennong”, “sunset of Jinping Hill”, “bell of generosity”, “county of folk music”, and etc.; its ecology is well preserved that the park is with abundant plants and species and biological diversity, and the ecological system is perfect; it is with livable environment for the improvement of construction of national forest city and the sceneries of the park are elegant and unique; Jiahe county’s transformation development is promoted rapidly that it paid balance attention on coal, casting, tourism ecology, green development, and etc.; and the application work for the establishment of national forest park was handled out well with scientific planning, forceful organization, and sound preparation and supporting.

It is terrific good news for ecological civilization construction of Jiahe county to be established as national forest park successfully. It is also significant for its further protection of forest resources, improvement of living condition, promotion of transformation and upgrading of county economy, construction of harmonious society and demonstration county of integration of urban and rural areas.
