2016 China- Anren Ganfenshe & 8th Cole Flower Festival Opens

Some leaders of Anren county visited rice sculpture contest after the opening ceremony

 

In the morning of March 11,2016, 2016 China- Anren Ganfenshe (Shennong Equiniox Medicine God Festival)& 8th Cole Flower Festival was opened in Anren county. Li Xiaojun- Secretary of Anren County Secretary announced the opening of the festival. Some other leaders of Anren county attended the festival.

 

Anren Ganfenshe is a traditional folk activity of Anren county, also called as Shennong Equinox Medicine God Festival. It was originated from late Tang Dynasty for memorizing Yan Emperor who was considered as the ancestor of Chinese people. Every equinox, Anren people gather together in the downtown to worship Shennong emperor. Some other activities as herbal medicine trading, launching ceremony of spring ploughing, and etc. are held there as well. This festival was enrolled into national non-tangible heritage directory in 2014. In recent years, Anren County Party Committee and Government deeply integrated Cole flower with "Ganfenshe", combing with modern trade and sightseeing to improve it to be a famous annual festival of "Shennong Equinox Medicine God Festival" & "Cole Flower Festival".

 

Now it is the blossoming season of cole flowers, over 10,000mu fields are full of the beautiful yellow flowers, which attract a large number of visitors to enjoy their time there. It was learned that Anren county was voted to be "Chenzhou city's most beautiful place of cole flower" recently. Enjoy your time in the cole flower sea in Anren!

 

Rice sculpture contest was launched after the opening ceremony of the festival. "Latter festival rice sculpture" which is called as "Zhuo Ji Po Gao" among Anren local people is a unique folk culture derived from Anren people's memorization of Yan Emperor-Shennong's invention of farming. It has been carrying forward in Anren county for over thousand years. Figures, dragon, phoenix, flowers, birds, animals and other vivid works of rice sculpture greatly attracted people's attention.
