It was learned that 7# and 8# piers columns were joined together at 2am, June 3, 2016, which indicated the great bridge was closed and it was nearly ready for operation.
Chishi Bridge which is the largest double cable plane prestressed concrete cable-stayed bridge of the world is located in Chishi town, Yizhang county. The main girder is 1470meters long, and the whole bridge follows the span design of 165m+3x380m+165m. The largest tower is 286.63m high; the bridge surface is 182m above the road surface; 193 girders are set for the bridge. The closure schedule are followed the steps of sidespan, midspan, and sub-midspan.
The works on midspan of main girder and pushing of two sub-midspans were finished on this April 19 and May 25 respectively. The pushing work was finished with expected effects. Rest joint work was carried out on the basis of specified time schedule, which enabled the whole project to be placed operation in the end of this October.
