“It is beautiful! Please give me a fish.” “The performance is excellent!”

When reporters visited the ancient Yuhou cultural street on June 11, 2016, it was extremely hot there. Sugar painting, Kunqu opera “Qu Yuan”, Beijing Erhu performance, Xifengdu fish noodle, and some other intangible cultural heritages of Chenzhou city attracted large amount of visitors gathering there.

“2016 Chenzhou Intangible Cultural Heritage Show” which was jointly sponsored by Chenzhou Media Group and Suxian District Government was held in Yuhou street on June 11, 2016.

Followed the theme of “integrating the cultural heritages into modern life”, three parts as displaying & marketing, performance of intangible cultural heritages, and performance of communities were set on the show. 29 intangible cultural heritages collected from 10 counties and districts of Chenzhou city were exhibited there. Visitors can enjoy the performance of the inheritors, as well as buy some products on site. Foods, traditional hand-making crafts, folk arts, and etc. highly indicated the rich and unique culture of Chenzhou city.

It was introduced by Long Qiyang- Secretary of Party Group and Bureau of Chenzhou Media Group that in recent years, Chenzhou devoted to the propaganda and productive protection of intangible cultural heritages, and gained sound effects. Now, there are 7 national level, 14 Hunan provincial level, and 74 Chenzhou municipal level intangible cultural heritages available in Chenzhou city. 4 national level, 13 Hunan provincial level, and 100 Chenzhou municipal level inheritors are available there as well. 48 Chenzhou municipal level intangible cultural project bases and institutes were built there.

Deng Hui who is one of the staffs of Protection Center of Chenzhou Intangible Cultural Heritages introduced that Xifengdu fish noodle, Hengyang Huagu opera, Jiahe wedding accompanying song, Suxian lion dance, Anren Ganfenshe, Xiangnan wood carving, Yongxing silver, Xingning embroidery, and some other representative intangibles would be displayed on the 2-day show. All of those were just drops of bucket of Chenzou cultural symbols. More ancient traditional cultures are waiting for people’s findings and recommendations.
