Located in the southeast of Hunan province, Zixing has 13 townships and subdistricts, with a total land area of 2,747 square kilometers and a total population of 380,000 people. 

 

 

Zixing enjoys a subtropical climate, and is abundant with natural resources. In 1985, it has been built because of Dongjiang Hydropower Station, and Dongjiang Lake, with water surface area of 160 square kilometers was built. 

 

 

As the increasing popularity of photographic equipment, the photography culture in Dongjiang Lake emerged, with the unique natural landscape of Dongjiang Lake basin and rich folk customs. It has become a highlight of Zixing's folk culture. 

 

 

As early as 2016, Zixing was awarded the title of Town of Chinese Photography by the China Photographers Association, becoming the first one in Hunan.
