Data from Chenzhou Municipal Bureau of Culture, Tourism, Television and Sports in February 14 showed that, though affected by the ice and snow weather and epidemic, Chenzhou still saw an upturn in its tourism market during the Spring Festival holiday this year compared with the same period last year. And short-distance tour, suburban tour and rural tour were popular with locals.
During the holiday, the city received a total of 959,700 tourists and generated tourist revenue of 887 million yuan, an increase of 6.80% and 5.53% respectively, ranking second in the province.
Dongjiang Lake Scenic Area received 77,557 tourists during the holiday. Mangshan Mountain Scenic Area (Wuzhi Peak) received 64,311 tourists; Feitian Mountain Scenic Area received 10,308 tourists; Gaoyiling Scenic Area received 5,900 tourists; Shazhou Red Scenic Area received 8,500 tourists, and Reshui Hot Spring Resort received 20,191 tourists.
Distinctive Spring Festival galas were held in districts and counties across the city in combination with local cultural characteristics to meet the spiritual and cultural needs of different groups. Some tourist attractions also launched activities to celebrate the new year.
Hot springs and rural tours were quite popular. Longnv Hot Spring Resort received 8,500 tourists, an increase of 11.26%; Reshui Hot Spring Tourist Area received 20,191 tourists, an increase of 4.41%. The rural attractions along the Xihe River Tourist Belt were also teeming with visitors.
