Cross-province group travel grows during Dragon Boat Festival holiday

According to the data released by Ctrip, a leading online travel company in China, on June 5, cross-province group tours have seen a recovery; and rural homestay inns and featured hotels have been popular during the Dragon Boat Festival holiday.

 

By June 4, the total number of travel orders in Hunan during the holiday increased by 185% compared with that during the Qingming Festival.

 

As many places have resumed cross-province tours, the cross-province tourism market has seen a sustained recovery. Ctrip data showed that the cross-province group tours accounted for nearly 80% of the group tour business during the Dragon Boat Festival holiday.
 
The growth rate exceeded 20% compared with that during the Qingming Festival, while the growth rate was nearly 10% compared with that during the May Day holiday, reaching its peak in the past three months.
 
The top ten popular scenic spots in Hunan Province are Changsha Tongguan Kiln Ancient Town, Changsha Ecological Zoo, Zhangjiajie National Forest Park, Changsha Oriental Heritage, Changsha Colorful World, Gaoyi Ridge Tourist Area, Huayi Brothers (Changsha) Film Town, Tianmen Mountain National Forest Park, Dongjiang Lake Scenic Spot, and Shiyan Lake.
 
The average booking volume of homestay inns per day on Ctrip was nearly 10% higher than that in the same period of 2019 on the first two days of the Dragon Boat Festival holiday.
 
The average booking volume of homestay inns per day increased by 57% compared with the first two days of the Qingming Festival holiday this year, and it still was still slightly higher than that during the May Day holiday this year. The homestay bookings in Hunan Province ranked seventh nationwide.
 
The hotel packages and special hotel products continued to maintain a good momentum. The operating indicators of hotel packages, including room nights and turnover, were better than those in the Qingming Festival and May Day holidays this year.
 
Meanwhile, the special hotel products, including E-sports room, audio-visual room, and parent-child room, achieved great performance in terms of urban coverage and booking volume growth.
 
According to Ctrip’s data, the transaction volume of E-sports rooms on Ctrip increased by nearly 60% on the first day of the Dragon Boat Festival holiday compared with the Dragon Boat Festival holiday last year.
