During the New Year’s Day holiday, affected by the cold air, the Wuzhi Peak Scenic Area of Mangshan Mountain in Yizhang, Chenzhou was covered with ice and snow, presenting a magnificent rime landscape.
The Mangshan Wuzhi Peak Scenic Area has ushered in a small wave of tourism peak, with a single day tourist volume of 2,000 people, and 50% of them were from the local surrounding areas and 50% from the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay area. The comprehensive tourism income of the New Year’s Day holiday in the scenic area reached 12.2426 million yuan.
This also indicates that after the release of the “10 new measures” to optimize COVID-19 response, Mangshan tourism has stepped out of the low point and is moving towards the high peak.
Mangshan Mountain is located at the intersection of Nanling Mountains, with the highest elevation of more than 1,900 meters. It is one of the southernmost tips of the ice and snow lines in China. It is possible for tourists to enjoy the gorgeous rime scenery on Mangshan Mountain from December to February of the next year.
This year, the Second Hunan Tourism Development Conference will be held in Chenzhou. The Mangshan Mountain Wuzhi Peak Scenic Area (Phase II), as a supporting project for the conference, is planned to invest 25 million yuan to improve infrastructure, upgrade barrier-free roads, and build tourism reception services, shopping and dining facilities.
Based on the current tourism development, the scenic area is expected to recover to the tourist volume of the summer peak by the Spring Festival. And it has also made adequate plans and added many safety facilities to ensure visitors’ safety and fun.
