The Hunan Rural Cultural Tourism Festival will be held in Rucheng County, Chenzhou City on February 17, according to a press conference held on February 8.
With the theme of “Welcome to Charming Hunan, Soak in the Nature of Rucheng”, the event focuses on promoting the culture and tourism products of Chenzhou City and Rucheng County.
Two main activities will be held during the festival, including the opening ceremony and a seminar on culture and tourism empowering rural revitalization. There will be six activities, including a night garden party and Rucheng incensing dragon dance, art performances by Hunan’s Rucheng County and Guangdong's Renhua County, and Jiangxi's Chongyi County, and China Outdoor Fitness Leisure Conference (Rucheng Stop).
Chenzhou is the hometown of hot springs in China and one of places with the most abundant geothermal resources in Central and Southern China. There are more than 40 known natural hot spring spots in Chenzhou.
Chenzhou gives full play to its advantages in hot springs and cultivates new ways of holiday life, with such projects as Rucheng Reshui Wellness Hot Spring, Luoquan Cave Hot Spring and Mangshan Forest Hot Spring. It is stepping up efforts to turn its advantageous resources to profitable products.
Chenzhou will take this opportunity to develop itself into a well-known city of hot springs and wellness.
Rucheng county is a well-known hometown of hot springs in China, and Rucheng Hot Spring is a natural hot spring in South China with the largest flow, the highest water temperature, the best water quality and the widest area. It’s known as “the first hot spring in South China” and “the first radon spring in China”.
After more than 20 years of development, a hot spring tourism industrial pattern was formed, with such supporting facilities as Guanxi Villa, Reshui River rafting, homestay inns, food and wellness.
In the past three years, Rucheng received more than 4.5 million tourist arrivals for hot spring, with tourism income of 4.5 billion yuan, and hot spring tourism has become an important pillar industry in Rucheng's economic development.
In recent years, Hunan has held rural cultural tourism festivals in spring, summer, autumn and winter each year, aiming to lead the integrated development of rural culture and tourism and take a development path to boost rural revitalization through culture and tourism industry.
The province has developed rural cultural tourism products like creative agriculture, characteristic homestay inn and leisure wellness to promote the in-depth integration of cultural tourism with agriculture, industry and wellness. While protecting traditional culture and natural resources, the province is seeking to make the people live a happy and rich life through cultural tourism.
