Cherry Blossom Festival kicks off in Guiyang County

From February 16 to February 18, the Cherry Blossom Festival, one of the activities of the second Hunan Tourism Development Conference, was held in the Cherry Blossom Garden of Guiyang County, Chenzhou City, attracting a constant stream of tourists.

At the opening ceremony on February 16, drum dances, songs with dance, flute solo were staged in succession, providing an artistic feast for the audience.
 
The Cherry Blossom Garden of Guiyang County is currently the largest ecological garden to view cherry blossoms in Southern Hunan.
 
There are eight varieties of cherry blossoms in the garden. The core area of the garden is 300 mu (20 hectares) and the planting area is more than 2,000 mu (about 133.33 hectares). Over 30,000 cherry trees are planted here.

During the festival, such activities as the Hanfu (traditional Chinese apparel) parade, the social networking conference for young people and the cherry blossom and food cultural and creative market were launched to integrate traditional culture with the beauty of cherry blossoms.
 
In September this year, the second Hunan Tourism Development Conference will kick off in Chenzhou. Guiyang County, based on the characteristics of major scenic areas in the county, has planned a series of activities to support the second Hunan Tourism Development Conference.

These activities include the Guiyang Cherry Blossom Festival in February, the Peony Immersive Art Festival in March, the Xihe River Hiking Activity in April, the Xihe River Starry Sky Camping Activities in May, directional cross-country activities in June, parent-child tours in July, science popularization activities in August and the Douyin Short Video Contest and the opening ceremony of the second Hunan Tourism Development Conference in September.
 
In recent years, Guiyang has focused on the development of the cultural tourism industry to boost rural revitalization. 
 
Last year, the county implemented 52 key cultural tourism projects, with a total investment of 13.982 billion yuan, involving agricultural leisure, forestry, transportation, tourism, etc. It provides no less than 3 million yuan every year to promote the quality improvement of the cultural and tourism industry.
