Chenzhou City boasts three attractions listed among the first batch of provincial-level ecological tourism demonstration sites announced recently: the Mangshan Mountain National Forest Park, the Jiulong River National Forest Park, and the Suxian Ridge-Wanhuayan Scenic Area.
Recent years have seen ecological tourism being a trend in the global tourism market. With abundant ecological resources, Hunan Province, therefore, has been developing ecological tourism demonstration sites to promote ecological experience, education, and tourism products.
Across Hunan Province, a total of nine ecological tourism demonstration sites have been selected, including the Qingyang Lake State-owned Forest Farm in Ningxiang City, the Heimi Peak National Forest Park, the Mangshan National Forest Park, the Dayun Mountain National Forest Park, the Jiulong River National Forest Park, the Mufu Mountain National Forest Park, the Suxian Ridge-Wanhuayan Scenic Area, the Zhaoshan Scenic Area, and the Yuntai Mountain National Stone Desert Park in Anhua County.
Air quality, surface water quality, air noise quality, and air bacteria content at these sites meet national Class I standards, and their air negative ion concentration exceeds 1,500 per cubic centimeter.
It’s worth noting that Hunan Province conducts a comprehensive review of provincial-level ecological tourism demonstration sites every three years, and those that no longer meet the standards will be disqualified.
