Kaishan Festival is an annual anniversary of slash-and-burn cultivation by the local Yao ethnic group, through which people pray for good weather and good harvest. There are colorful activities such as singing, drumming, dragon and lion dances, full of lively and festive atmosphere.

 

 

This festival featuring Yao folk characteristics, together with the enchanting spring scenery greatly helped improve the tourism quality and brand popularity of Mangshan. 

 

According to statistics, the Mangshan Wuzhifeng Scenic Area received 6,000 tourists on that day, a year-on-year increase of 75%, with a comprehensive tourism income of more than 3 million yuan.
