After being closed for nearly half a year for maintenance, Yangtian Lake Grassland Scenic Area reopened with a new look on April 20, attracting about 2,000 tourists.
The grassland is now a picturesque paradise with an abundance of lush greenery and crystal-clear waters. The serene blue sky provides the perfect backdrop for visitors who immerse themselves in the romantic atmosphere of the grassland. Horseback riding, running on the plush lawn, feeding adorable pets, and admiring the breathtaking sunset are just some of the activities that allow tourists to fully indulge in the beauty and tranquility of the grassland.
New projects have been added this year including a shooting range and a 1.5-kilometer-long canyon trekking featuring exhilarating activities such as canyon exploration, cascading waterfalls, and secret bamboo forests.
Moreover, a pedestrian trail and miniature landscapes are currently under construction with 90% of the project already completed, expected to open in the upcoming May Day holiday.
This year, innovative approaches such as spray seeding have been adopted to repair the grassland. It is reported that the grassland restoration project will continue until May.
In recent years, Beihu District has never stopped its restoration efforts to protect the ecological environment of the grassland. The local government has implemented a series of measures such as ecological protection and restoration and strengthened grassland law enforcement, further improving the protection mechanism that combines fencing, tourism ban and ecological restoration.
In 2020, Beihu District introduced Jinzhan Tourism Development Co. Ltd to promote the coordinated development of Yangtian Lake Grassland’s tourism resources and related industries by promoting both natural recovery and artificial restoration, as well as advancing planning and industrial layout.
At the same time, 4,680 mu (312 hectares) of core grasslands have been designated for key ecological protection and restoration. From June 2020 to date, the green coverage rate of Yangtian Lake Grassland has increased from 64% before restoration to 91%.
High-altitude grassland lakes are one of the wonders of Yangtian Lake Grassland Scenic Area. In addition to protecting and restoring grassland resources, Beihu District has also systematically treated water resources. It has integrated the treatment of Yangtian Lake Grassland’s water system into landscape construction, and restored the grassland’s water storage capacity by repairing dams and removing silt.
This year, a professional team was engaged to improve the water ecological system of the five original lakes.
Spring is the best season for travel and Yangtian Lake Grassland is worth a travel in spring.
