The azalea festival will further promote the integration of culture and tourism in Mangshan through characteristic themed activities such as online azalea appreciation, folk song singing, Yao clothing parade, and Mangshan drumming performances.

 

The azaleas in Mangshan Mountain bloom from April to June every year. There are a total of 43 species of azaleas in the Mangshan Mountain, accounting for 80% of the total in Hunan. Among them, Hunan azalea, Jianshang azalea, and Huguang azalea are unique to Mangshan Mountain.

 

 

This year, Mangshan has successively carried out themed activities such as The World Mangshan Mountain with “The Wandering Earth 2”, national intangible cultural heritage Yizhang “Night Story” performance, Mangshan Yanziyan Peach Blossom Festival, which have been warmly received and popular. Especially during the Spring Festival, “The World Mangshan Mountain” became a trendy topic, with over 250 million views on related topics. 

 

 

During the 7-day Spring Festival holiday, Mangshan Scenic Area received a total of 147,700 tourists, with a comprehensive tourism income of 97.482 million yuan, an increase of 372.89% and 328.62% respectively compared to the previous year.

 

The Azalea Festival is another warm-up activity for the second tourism development conference after the Mangshan Mountain became popular during the last Spring Festival. It will also carry out themed activities such as the Langlang Space Concert and the Yao Ethnic Customs and Culture Week, so as to promote the integrated development of culture and tourism.
