During the May Day holiday, the Mangshan Mountain Scenic Area in Yizhang County ushered in its peak tourist flow. Compared with the same period last year, the number of visitors to the scenic area increased by more than five times.
At the Mangshan Nature Museum, the Mangshan trimeresurus mucrosquamatus, known as the “Little Green Dragon”, enjoyed the cool at the cave entrance, attracting many tourists to take photos with its lovely appearance.
The Mangshan Mountain, located in the Nanling Mountains, is known as the “gene pool of animals and plants”. Besides the Mangshan trimeresurus mucrosquamatus, there are also wild stump-tailed macaques.
At the same time, several spring rains before the arrival of the May Day holiday had brought a large amount of water in the scenic area. In scenic spots such as Houwang Village and Jiangjun Village, the water flowed straight down from high, forming spectacular waterfalls and continuous cascades. The rhododendrons in the mountain were in full bloom. Tourists were mesmerized by the enchanting natural scenery.
Thanks to its unique mountain and water resources and proximity to the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, the major scenic spots in Mangshan were popular during the May Day holiday. According to statistics from the cultural and tourism department, during the May Day holiday, the Mangshan Mountain Scenic Area received a total of 131,400 tourists and achieved a comprehensive income of 44,055,100 yuan, an increase of 565.31% and 596.99% respectively compared to 2022.
