Chenzhou has two scenic areas along Yangtze River-themed tourism routes

2023-05-10

The Ministry of Culture and Tourism (MCT) has recently launched 10 national-level Yangtze River-themed tourism routes and a travel itinerary of the tourism belt, to further translate the themed routes into market products and meet the real demand of tourists.

The Yangtze River International Golden Tourism Belt covers 11 provinces and cities, including Shanghai, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Anhui, Jiangxi, Hubei, Hunan, Chongqing, Sichuan, Yunnan, and Guizhou.

By marshalling the cultural and tourism resources along the tourism belt, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism has designed ten routes focusing on themes including cultural origins tracing, world-level heritage, Communist revolutionary heritage, nature and ecology, rural vitalization, intangible cultural heritage, and urban recreational tours. These travel routes are designed to comprehensively exhibit the real, multidimensional, and ever-developing image of the Yangtze River, and elevate the global appeal and competitiveness of the tourism belt.

Dongjiang Lake Scenic Area in Chenzhou City and Shazhou Village in Rucheng County have been selected as part of the “Yangtze River Peace Tour” and the “Yangtze River Rural Revitalization Tour” respectively.

Dongjiang Lake Scenic Area

Dongjiang Lake integrates the beauty of its mountains and the charm of its water, combining the elegance of Southern China and the historical civilization.
During the summer and autumn seasons, every time the sun rises or sets, the enchanting Dongjiang Lake is enveloped in mist, presenting a mesmerizing view of blue water and green mountains.

In addition, tourists can take a boat to Doushuai Island to admire the unique scenery of the Doushuailing Rock.

Shazhou Village

Shazhou Village is the site where the story of “Half a Quilt” took place. During an inspection visit to Shazhou Village in September 2020, Chinese President Xi Jinping pointed out that Red resources should be fully utilized and Red stories should be well told so that the Red genes can be passed down from generation to generation.

In response, Shazhou Village has been vigorously developing Red tourism and has built 100 tourism projects, including Red Army Street, Red Book House and Red Outdoor Extending Base.

Chenzhou, the host city of the Second Hunan Tourism and Development Conference, is expected to showcase its multifaceted charm in all directions during the event. Through the conference, Chenzhou aims to demonstrate its rich cultural heritage, picturesque scenery and unique tourist attractions to the wider world.
