The official slogan, logo and mascots of the second Hunan Tourism Development Conference (HTDC) were released on May 20. The logo is a variant of the Chinese character, Chen (郴), and the mascots are the “Mountain Man” (山侠) and “Water Fairy” (水仙).
Chenzhou City solicited the slogan, logo and mascots for the conference worldwide from January this year. A total of 5,980 e-mails from 32 provinces and municipalities in the country, Hong Kong and Macao and other countries like the USA, UK, Canada and Australia were received. Among them, there were 15,240 slogans, 790 logos and 235 mascots.
The slogan is “meeting in Chenzhou with landscapes of mountains and water”.
The logo is inspired by the Chinese character Chen “郴”, integrating Linyi’s running hand (Linyi, the ancient name of Chenzhou), the Chinese characters (郴州) and the abstract design of the elements of mountains and water in Chenzhou. The visual design of the logo is subtly integrated with Chenzhou’s Red stories, green landscapes and other charming resources, showing Chenzhou’s rich cultural and tourism resources, demonstrating a young and energetic city and fully proving Chenzhou to be an ecological city of future and hope.
“Mountain man”, whose hairstyle is like the Wuzhi Peak of Mangshan Mountain, is a personification of Chenzhou’s splendid mountains. And “Water Fairy” is inspired by Chenzhou’s rivers, beautiful and dreamy. The mascots symbolize Chenzhou’s beautiful landscapes.
