Recently, more than 120 people from the Association of Travel Services in Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and the National Association of Long-distance Travel Services experienced the thrilling and exciting Mangshan Gorge Rafting in Mangshan Mountain.
Although the weather was slightly cold, everyone was enthusiastic about the rafting. “I heard of the thrilling Mangshan Gorge Rafting earlier. And the water of the river here is so clean that it can be directly drunk. I am looking forward to this rafting activity,” said Dong Zancong, deputy general manager of Guangdong Foshan City Tianxiayou International Travel Service.
Mangshan Gorge Rafting is located in the Mangshan Mountain National Forest Park. The river water is clean and qualified to drink. Mangshan Gorge Rafting, with 25 rapids, 18 natural dangerous shoals, 36 bends and 6 pools, boasts the biggest drop of 298 meters among the rafting events in the country.
“Just like taking a ‘water roller coaster’. It is really heart-racing!” said Huang Meibao, head of an offline shop of Ctrip in Guangzhou, adding that she would recommend more tourists to visit Mangshan Mountain.
Chenzhou Xiangyu Tourism Development Co., Ltd. invested a total of 160 million yuan in the Mangshan Gorge Rafting according to the standard of 5A national tourist attraction. Mangshan Gorge Rafting annually received 100,000 tourists from Hunan, Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, Guangxi, Jiangxi and other provinces. The development of Mangshan Gorge Rafting not only creates jobs for the locals, but also promotes local economic development. By working in the scenic area, running agritainments or opening homestay inns, the locals have increased income.
According to Pu Minglin, head of Chenzhou Xiangyu Tourism Development Co., Ltd., the company would make full use of the resources of Mangshan, and step up the construction of infrastructure to improve the quality of the scenic area. Also, they would focus on building the indoor hot spring water park project of Mangshan Water World to help the locals increase income and empower rural revitalization.
