On June 8, the cultural tourism promotional activities of the second Hunan Tourism Development Conference kicked off in Shenzhen. At the conference, boutique tourist routes of Chenzhou and preferential measures for Chenzhou welcoming tourists from Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and other cities were released. And a 100-day countdown to the conference was started.
As the south gate of Hunan, Chenzhou is the “bridgehead” that connects Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA).
According to relevant data, 80% of Chenzhou’s investment is introduced from GBA, and 80% of the visitors come from GBA. 80% of its agricultural products are sold to GBA, and 80% of its migrant workers are employed in GBA. In the recently released list of “Top 20 scenic areas in Hunan favoured by tourists from GBA”, Chenzhou’s scenic areas occupied 4 places among the top 6.
“From Shenzhen to Chenzhou, it only takes 2 hours by high-speed rail. Therefore, Chenzhou, with rich cultural tourism resources, is a very popular tourist destination for the Shenzhen people,” said Huang Chuping, general manager assistant of Shenzhen CITS.
“Both my previous visit to Chenzhou and the promotional activities of Chenzhou held in Shenzhen have made me fully experience the good business environment of Chenzhou,” said Wang Tao, vice president of Shenzhen Tourism Association. Also, he thought that with the increased popularity and influence, Chenzhou, boasting splendid landscapes and profound cultural heritage, will attract more tourists from GBA in the future.
In recent years, Chenzhou has moved faster to promote the high-quality development of integrated culture and tourism. It received a total of 56,545,700 tourists and a total tourism revenue of 57.257 billion yuan in 2022. Taking the hosting of the Second Hunan Tourism Development Conference as an opportunity, Chenzhou will carry out 96 projects with an annual planned investment of 11.156 billion yuan this year.
