The clear water flows out from the bottom of the Dongjiang Dam, which is more than 150 meters deep. The water temperature is only 8-10 degrees Celsius all year round. The upper water is hot and the lower water is cold in the morning, and the upper water is cold and the lower water is hot in the evening, thus forming a temperature difference and generating water smoke, and giving rise to the dreamlike mist-enveloped Dongjiang Lake, which is constantly attracting tourists from home and abroad.

 

The pure and vast Dongjiang Lake with a total area of 160 square kilometers has a storage capacity of 8.12 billion cubic meters, which is equivalent to half of Dongting Lake.

With Dongjiang Lake National AAAAA Scenic Area as the core, Zixing vigorously develops ecological, rural, industrial, cultural, hot spring, study tour and other tourism forms. Among them, there are 4 boutique tourism routes with Dongjiang Lake as the core.

 

The nighttime cultural tourism consumer product “A Moonlit Night on the Dongjiang Lake” launched in 2022 cannot make it without the clear water. There are boat tours, bamboo rafting, night performances, water cycling and other leisure projects, covering a range of consumption chains such as catering, entertainment, and performance.

 

Furthermore, Tsingtao Brewery is attracted by the excellent water quality of Dongjiang Lake. The outbound water quality has maintained the national surface Class I water standard all year round, which has impressed the members of Tsingtao Brewery Group who visited Zixing more than 20 years ago.

 

According to the commentator of Tsingtao Brewery (Chenzhou) Cultural Experience Center, at that time, the visitors brought a bottle of water back for laboratory tests, and it was found that the water quality reached the national first-class standard for drinking water. For this reason, Tsingtao Brewery Group settled in Chenzhou without hesitation after many years.

 

Today, Tsingtao Brewery Chenzhou Company produces 70,000 tons of beer annually using high-quality water from Dongjiang Lake. It has developed the processing technology of seaweed wall breaking extraction and enzyme fermentation coupling, and then built a leading production line of aerated seaweed soda water in China.

 

It is far from enough just to use the lake’s water to strengthen cultural tourism. Relying on the cold water resources of Dongjiang Lake, Dongjiang Lake Big data Center, which is jointly operated by Hunan Branch of China Telecom and Hunan Cloud Nest Company, has been here for a long time.

 

The water intake of Dongjiang Lake Big Data Center is located 10km downstream of Dongjiang Lake. The runoff at the water intake is stable, and the annual average water temperature is lower than 13 degrees Celsius, which can meet the refrigeration capacity demand of 1,200 MW of IT capacity.

 

Therefore, since its operation in June 2017, Dongjiang Lake Big Data Center has been able to use natural water to cool its computer room almost all year round, with a stable PUE value of below 1.16, making it one of the most energy-efficient green ecological data centers in China.

 

At present, there are 5 data centers with a total of 38,000 racks in the Dongjiang Lake Big Data Industrial Park. In 2022, it has achieved IDC rental revenue of 120 million yuan, bandwidth revenue of 250 million yuan, and tax revenue of 32 million yuan. Among them, more than 60 enterprises (projects) have settled in Dongjiang Lake Big Data Center.
