Mangshan Mountain, located in Yizhang County of Chenzhou, Hunan Province, is the largest primeval forest at the same latitude on earth. It is the mysterious biological kingdom with more than 50 kinds of animals and plants under national key protection, such as Protobothrops mangshanensis and Taxus chinensis var mairei. It is also an excellent natural oxygen bar, with a concentration of 106,900 negative oxygen ions per cubic centimeter. Even in hot weather, the average temperature in the mountain is only about over 20 degrees, making it an ideal summer resort.

 

 

In order to enhance tourist experience, the scenic area has also developed Mangshan Grand Canyon Rafting project. It is currently the largest rafting project in China. The clear and transparent water is even drinkable. Along the rafting route, there are 25 riptide points, 18 natural rapids, 36 bends and 6 pools for “water cannons”.

 

On Meituan, a “Super App” that features all tourism-related businesses from hotels to other local attractions, Mangshan Grand Canyon Rafting ranks first on the must-visit places in southern Hunan, and the number of daily tourists on weekends reaches more than 10,000. 

 

 

The recovery of summer tourism has led to the consumption growth of Mangshan. The number of tourists in Mangshan has reached 281,000 again during the first week of this summer vacation, bringing a comprehensive tourism income of 290 million yuan.
