Recently, the Department of Science and Education of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism publicized a list of typical experiences of national culture and tourism standardization.
Among them, the typical experience of “Building a Standard System of Cultural and Tourism Integration and Building a Self-driving Tourism Highland” recommended by the Hunan Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism and submitted by the People’s Government of Beihu District of Chenzhou City was included on the list.
With abundant leisure tourism resources, advantageous location, convenient transportation and good ecological environment, Beihu District of Chenzhou City is the “southern gate” connecting Hunan with the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
Beihu District of Chenzhou City has always taken “Promote High-quality Integrated Development of the Cultural and Tourism Industry with Standardization” as the core of tourism development, focusing on the new form of self-driving tourism, compiled and published five local standards such as “Public Information Graphic Symbols of Self-driving Tour and RV Camping in Tourist Destinations”.
According to the standard of LB/T 061-2017 “Guide on Infrastructure and Public Services for Self-driving Tourism Destinations”, Beihu District has built the 60km-long Chenzhou-Yangtian Lake Highway into a landscape road with standardized public services for self-driving tourism.
At the same time, Beihu District spearheaded the “Nine Cities in the Greater Bay Area and Chenzhou City in Hunan Province (9+1) Self-drive Tourism Standardization Strategic Cooperation Alliance”, through which ten cities in two provinces through the mutual recognition and sharing of standards and other technical cooperation achieve market integration and win-win cooperation.
At present, Beihu District of Chenzhou City has achieved remarkable results in the standardization of tourism, which has been rated as a national tourism standardization demonstration zone. The tourism economy of the district ranks among the top counties (cities, districts) of the province.
