Recently, the first three-day camellia tourism festival was held in Huatang Township, Linwu County, Chenzhou.
At the camellia oil base of Qincaitang Village, Linwu County, tourists admired camellias, took photos, watched songs and dances, purchased specialty products, and tasted delicious food.
To enhance tourists’ experience, there was also camellia fruit shelling competition, camellia oil production experience, and camellia oil knowledge prize competition. Tourists who completed required tasks could also receive rewards.
The camellia oil base in Qincaitang village began planting in 2007. Relying on its high altitude, abundant light, the camellia oil industry became a local characteristic brand industry in Linwu County. Thus, a ten thousand mu (666.67 hectares) camellia oil base was built.
Last year, the base was also equipped with oil extraction equipment. Now, apart from selling tea, it can also sell freshly squeezed camellia oil.
Nowadays, Huatang Township in Linwu County has vigorously developed the cultivation of camellia oil industry, forming an camellia oil industrial belt with a core area in Qincaitang.
Based on the characteristics of different periods, by organizing activities such as appreciating camellias and experiencing tea oil extraction, a strong joint force has been formed to promote tourism, production, and prosperity through festivals, effectively promoting rural revitalization.
On the day of the festival, 9 companies also signed contracts to purchase camellia oil worth 180,000 yuan.
Taking this tourism festival as a bond, Huatang Township will continue to promote the integrated development of camellia flowers and rural primary, secondary, and tertiary industries, insist on the integrated development of modern agriculture and tourism, and build Huatang into a beautiful township with prosperous economy, rich culture and rural civility.
