The Cherry Blossom Valley in Huangshi Village, Meitian Town, Yizhang County has become a popular tourist attraction as cherry blossoms are in full bloom.
This picturesque cherry blossom resort has been transformed from a once devastated and abandoned mine.
In recent years, Huangshi Village has increased efforts to promote the ecological restoration project. More than 300 cherry blossom trees have been planted along the trails in the abandoned mine with the investment of nearly ten million yuan raised through various means such as project funding, public fundraising, and village collective economic investment.
The transformation from an abandoned mine to a tourist attraction has not only beautified the rural environment, but also promoted the development of local tourism, and brought economic benefits to villagers. As of now, the Cherry Blossom Valley in Huangshi Village has become a beautiful brand of Meitian Town and even the entire county, attracting more and more tourists.
“Next, we will increase investment and development efforts to develop the homestay industry, so as to improve rural tourism and boost villagers’ income,” said Huang Duoxiang, Party secretary of Huangshi Village.
