Chenzhou receives 158,300 tourists during Qingming Festival holiday

During the three-day Qingming Festival holiday, the 33 key monitored scenic spots in Chenzhou City received 158,300 tourists, an increase of 49.14%. 

 

As the host city of the second Hunan Tourism Development Conference, Chenzhou has focused on cultural plus to provide more choices for tourists.
 
With the warm story of “Half A Quilt” as the core, multiple Red attractions are connected to create rich Red tourism products. 
 
The Wayaoping Ancient Street in Suxian District was reopened in August last year, where now over 10 intangible cultural heritage exhibition halls gather, with an average passenger flow of over 20,000 people on a weekend day.
 
711 Time Town, transformed from a dormant mining area, offers visitors a glimpse of the industrial and mining town in the 1970s and 1980s. 
 
Chenzhou is the “bridgehead” connecting Hunan with the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, with over 65% of visitors to Chenzhou coming from the GBA every year. 
 
During the three-day holiday, Gaoyi Ridge Scenic Area welcomed many tour groups from the GBA. The scenic area received 5,699 tourists on April 6.
 
Chenzhou achieved impressive performances in tourism and accommodations during the holiday, with the number of visitors received by hotels doubling and the operating income more than doubled compared to the same period last year. 
 
The average rental rate of tourism accommodations in the city was 67.59%, and there were 5 accommodation units with an occupancy rate of over 90%.
