Yizhang County sees boom in hot spring tour

2024-04-21

In April, tourists are enthusiastic about travelling. Many tourists go for a spring outing, admire flowers and soak in hot springs in Yizhang County, the hometown of hot springs in China. The hot spring tour continues to heat up this spring.

At the Mangshan Forest Hot Spring Hotel in Yizhang County, there are waterfalls around the hot spring zone, blooming flowers all over the mountains, as well as more than 60 unique hot spring pools hidden in mountains and forests. Tourists soak in hot springs and relax themselves.

The infinity cliff hot spring pool at a height of 520 meters even draws foreign tourists.

A tourist from UK said, “It’s far from the city, but the scenery here is amazing. Soaking in a hot spring makes us feel relaxed. I will come here with more friends if I visit China next time.

The Yizhang Mangshan Forest Hot Spring Hotel is less than one kilometer away from the Mangshan Mountain Scenic Area. The hot spring water coming from 600 meters underground is rich in trace elements and minerals that are beneficial to human body, such as metasilicic acid.

The hotel has jointly launched themed activities with surrounding Mangshan Yanziyan and other scenic spots for hot spring tours in spring. The daily average tourist trips reach 800 people, and the hotel occupancy rate is over 60%.

“Although there was much rainfall in March and April this year, tourists still had strong desire to travel. Compared to last year, the data for March increased by 10%,” said Yuan Dapeng, deputy general manager of the hotel, noting that the rise in hot spring tour this spring has strengthened the confidence of those engaged in tourism.

Yizhang County is the south gate of Hunan province and the hometown of hot springs in China. 12 hot spring sites have been discovered in Yizhang County. Its rich geothermal resources and the advantage of being close to the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area have made Yizhang’s hot springs famous.

Last year, Yizhang County improved facilities and launched themed activities involving hot springs, wellness and flower appreciation to further enrich the tourist experience.

According to statistics from the cultural tourism department of Yizhang County, in the first quarter, more than 130 hot spring tourism reception venues in Yizhang County received 370,000 tourists, with a comprehensive revenue of over 40 million yuan.
