Blooming azaleas attract tourists in Mangshan Mountain

The launch ceremony of the “Barrier-free Tour in Mangshan Mountain” activity as well as the nationally well-known travel agencies’ familiarization tour in Mangshan Mountain was held on April 22. Nearly 300 representatives across the country strolled among the sea of azaleas on Mangshan Mountain and enjoyed the beautiful spring scenery without barriers.
Mangshan is the most well-preserved and diverse primitive forest at the same latitude on Earth. At the launch ceremony, Yizhang County kicked off the Mangshan Mountain National New Media Photography Competition to collect photography works on beautiful scenery of Mangshan Mountain.
Mangshan Mountain is an area with the most concentrated azalea resources, the most primitive population, and the most native azalea forests in South China.
Currently, there are 43 species of azaleas, among which Hunan azaleas, Jianshang azaleas, and Huguang azaleas are unique to Mangshan Mountain. Due to different elevations, there are various blooming azaleas from April to June each year, becoming a unique scenery at the turn of spring and summer.
On the day before the launch ceremony, various activities were presented in the scenic area, like Yao Shouting Mountain Festival, Mangshan Mountain Tourism Area Product Promotion Conference, Theme Catering Experience Activity, and Yizhang Night Story.
The magnificent scenery of Mangshan Mountain has left a deep impression on Guan Runkui, sales manager of Shanghai Longting Travel Agency. “The well-equipped barrier-free facilities allow the elderly and children to climb the mountain easily. It is worth recommending,” he said.
This activity will continue until May 20, during which a series of activities such as visiting the Houwangzhai Village Scenic Area and Yanziyan Scenic Area will be carried out to provide tourists with a fun spring flower viewing trip.
During the upcoming May Day holiday, the Mangshan Mountain Wuzhi Peak Scenic Area will also hold such activities as the Yao wedding at the top of Mangshan Mountain, allowing tourists to immerse themselves in the local customs and traditions.
