During the Dragon Boat Festival holiday, 28 activities were held in Chenzhou to exhibit and demonstrate intangible cultural heritage (ICH), including one online and 27 offline. 

 

The 2024 Chenzhou Cultural Heritage Promotion and Exhibition Event as well as the 5th Chenzhou ICH Shopping Festival opened in Changjuan Historical and Cultural Block from June 7 to 9, attracting a large number of citizens and tourists. 

 

The Dongjiang Lake Dragon Boat Race was held in the Water Sports Center of Zixing City on June 8, adding a strong festive atmosphere.

 

At the same time, a variety of cultural and tourism activities benefiting the people were held in Chenzhou. A series of tweets, such as “Discounts for Chenzhou attractions during the Dragon Boat Festival holiday” launched by the “Chenzhou Culture and Tourism” WeChat official account, provided citizens and tourists with rich tourism options. The Dragon Boat Festival activities launched by major scenic areas, such as the Mangshan Mountain Forest Hot Spring’s promotion, as well as the membership discounts of Fuquan Art Springs, were highly popular among citizens and tourists.

 

 

In addition, Chenzhou has made efforts to integrate sports events into urban development, and promote the deep integration of sports and cultural tourism relying on its own resource endowment.

 

Before the Dragon Boat Festival, the 2024 National Men’s Basketball League preseason (Chenzhou Station) was held, with the presence of Yao Ming, chairman of the Chinese Basketball Association.

 

During the Dragon Boat Festival holiday, various sports activities such as dragon boat races and mass fitness activities were carried out across the city, demonstrating the remarkable achievements of Chenzhou in building a “sports city”.
