Recently, the International Food Culture Tourism Festival kicked off in Zixing City of Chenzhou City. Famous chefs, gourmets, and travel bloggers from Hong Kong, Macao, Guangzhou, and other places participated in the festival. 

 

In recent years, Chenzhou has continued efforts to tap into the potential of the Greater Bay Area tourism market and attracted more and more Guangdong enterprises to invest in Chenzhou.

 

The Zixi Rusi Cultural Center, nestled on the bank of Xiaodongjiang Lake in Zixing City and designed as “a light boat”, has been roofed with its facade under construction. 

 

This project, invested by a Guangdong enterprise, will comprise a theatre, a cultural exhibition hall, a cruise ship dock, etc., which is expected to become a city landmark showcasing local folk culture.

 

To enhance the hotel reception capacity in Zixing City, the Jiahua International City project, invested by a company from Guangdong, is currently under construction. The project consists of a hotel with 300 rooms and a large commercial and residential complex.

 

Zixing City has entered the peak tourism season during the summer vacation. It receives over 10,000 visitors per day. Yang Licheng, Party secretary of Zixing City, said that relying on the clear water of Dongjiang Lake, Zixing City has developed low-carbon and environment-friendly industries such as eco-tourism and big data to enhance its reputation.

 

During the day, the Chenzhou Water World Exhibition Hall in the urban area of Zixing provides visitors with an immersive viewing experience.

 

At night, the “Moonlit Night on the Dongjiang Lake” project by Dongjiang Bay offers visitors the opportunity to take a boat, float river lanterns, enjoy the night view, and stroll through the night market.

 

Zixing City has increased efforts to promote the tourism brand of “touring Dongjiang Lake and staying overnight at Huilong Mountain”. A new road of more than 20 kilometers has been built to connect Chenzhou Water World, Dongjiang Lake, and Huilong Mountain. Tourists can experience the magnificent sea of clouds and sunrise and millennium-old blessing culture of Huilong Mountain along the road.

 

Dongjiang Lake Tourist Area ranked fourth among the “Top 20 Favorite Scenic Areas in Hunan for Tourists from the Greater Bay Area” released last year. Data shows that Guangdong tourists account for over 30% of the tourists in Dongjiang Lake.
