At the entrance of the block, ten strong men danced with a red dragon about 20 meters long to gongs and drums.

 

 

The block was decorated with classical lanterns of various colors and styles. The shops along the street were filled with goods such as “Rucheng Rice Wine” and “Ancient Costumes”. Tourists put on makeup, took photos, livestreamed, and shopped on the stone-paved road, with different sounds coming together.  

 

 

The Shanghuangmen historical and cultural block is located in the scenic area of “Neo-Confucianism Ancient Town. There are also such attractions as the “Zhu Family’s Ancestral Hall” and the “Embroidery Workshop”. It was once one of the busiest central blocks in Rucheng County. It has witnessed the development and changes of Rucheng and carried the memories of several generations. After the protection and renovation, this historical and cultural block has taken on a new look after many vicissitudes.
