Chenzhou sees booming cultural tourism during Spring Festival holiday

Folk performances such as the twenty-four festival drum and dragon and lion dances were staged in the Yuhou Street on February 5, allowing citizens to experience the strong traditional cultural atmosphere.

According to data, during the 8-day Spring Festival holiday, Chenzhou City received a total of 5.3174 million tourists, an increase of 43.25% compared to the same period of last year. Among them, there were 1.632 million overnight tourists and 2.396 million tourists from outside the province, accounting for 30.7% and 45.06% respectively. The average length of stay for overnight tourists was 2.863 days. The total expenditure of tourists in the city reached 5.39 billion yuan, with 2.823 billion yuan by local tourists and 2.567 billion yuan by tourists from other provinces. The average daily expenditure per tourist in the city hit 519.82 yuan.

In addition, during the Spring Festival holiday, ten themed activities were launched in Chenzhou, with 200,000 yuan of cultural and tourism consumption vouchers issued. Major scenic areas, cultural venues, and homestay inns in the city were bustling with people.
 
In 2024, Chenzhou made efforts to create cultural and tourism brands, expand markets, and improve services. It had 76.53 million tourist arrivals, with the number of tourists received and the total tourism expenditure ranking second in the province. The total output value of the cultural and tourism industry reached 110 billion yuan.

The credit system for the cultural and tourism market has been recommended by the Market Management Department of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, and Mangshan Mountain has passed the evaluation for the 5A tourist attraction by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism.
 
In 2024, Chenzhou created 2 national cultural and tourism brands, 82 provincial cultural and tourism brands, and 10 municipal ones.
