“Protect mother river, build a beautiful Hunan province” activity & tree planting project for youth league forest of Chenzhou city were launched in Chenzhou city.

Thousands of volunteers gathered in Wulingge park on March 14, 2013 to attend the opening ceremony of “Protect mother river, build a beautiful Hunan province” activity & tree planting project for youth league forest of Chenzhou city. Liu Zhenmao- the“mountains guardian”was employed as the charity ambassador of Chenzhou city for mother river protection.

It was learned that mother river protection action was launched in China from 1999. Concerned for “youth league forest”, it was a brand project of Chenzhou city to meet Hunan province arrangement on mother river protection and Chenzhou government’s target set for “three-year greening project” and “establishment of national forest city”. Since from 2002, 7 phases of tree planting activities with about 4.38 million yuan investment have been fulfilled in Chenzhou city to build 565mu youth league forest. More than 12,000 people joined in these activities. Per 2013 project, 0.7 million yuan was collected for building 100mu youth league forest.

It was introduced by 72-year-old grandpa volunteer that he went together with his grandson early this morning. He enjoyed well to plant trees together with the children for it can not only impress children with the environment protection awareness but can contribute to the improvement of Chenzhou environment condition as well.

Some Hunan provincial leaders and Chenzhou municipal leaders attended the activity.
