Santaishan Park covers with 5,753mu areas, 2,252mu of which is its core scenic spot area. This national 3A landscape, Hunan provincial forest park and Hunan provincial geological park is located in the south area of Guidong county. Because there are top, middle, and bottom platform (tai) available there, it was called Santai mountain. Lianxi Academy (the predecessor of Guidong 1st Middle School), Wenfeng Tower, SDU Heroes Monument, Santai Temple, Zhengqi Pavilion, small park of red memory, ancient trench, Revolutionary Martyrs Monument, Zhinv Fairy Lake, glacial mortars, and some other cultural and natural sceneries are available there that you can enjoy a leisure trip there. It becomes one of the famous name cards of “ecological Guidong”. In the next step, Guidong county planed to place 200million yuan investment on the expansion of the park and establishment of national 4A tourism landscape and park around county national forest park.

Wenfeng Tower which is located in the Santaishan forest park was firstly built in Ming Dynasty. In 17th year of Emperor Daoguang of Qing Dynasty, Hu Xihuan and Huang Youzai initiated to rebuild it which was being kept till today. It covers 38 square meters land. The diameter for the base of the tower is 7.15meters. This 7-floor and 19.5meters high tower was shaped as octagon, but only 4 floors are open. A stone carving bottle gourd was decorated on the top of the tower. Its design is unique which can show the ingenuity of the builders that it looks like cone in a far-view point, but looks a square concentric with inner circle in a closer look.
