In recent three years, with the accomplishment of the upgrading projects for Chenzhou roads, Chenzhou has become more beautiful and attractive. However, citizens who need to go through Xiaomei Bridge to the former paper factory suffered greatly from the bad road condition. This 1km long upgrading project started from last July, and it is still under the construction now. The low efficiency badly influences the whole Nanling road image. Due to this serious situation, some citizens called the hotline of governance through TV with complaints.

On August 2, a reporter came to the site of this road section and found only half of the road was available for passing. Because of this bad condition, cars need to slow down when passing through it; the store’s business has been greatly affected and residents nearby suffers greatly. Residents said some of the public buses had canceled the bus stop to the paper mill, which brought much inconvenience to their travelling.

Now, residents nearby are concerned about the time schedule of this road section and wondering when it can be fully finished. It was learned from the construction site, there was no project principal here, except some workers. Residents commented: “no matter what is the reason behind this situation, we just want it to be finished sooner, for the road concerning with people's livelihood cannot be fixed for a long time will be bound to affect the production and life of the surrounding residents.”

After consulting with the project owner- Chenzhou City Investment Company, its principal stated that the key reason for this situation was the bad weather, pipes, light cables and so on. Now that all the problems are well solved, this road section project is expected to be finished in this October.
