The Council Meeting of Orchid Branch of Hunan Flower Association was held in Zixing city on May 25, 2013. It was approved that the forth Hunan (Dongjiang Lake) Orchid Exhibition would be held in Zixing city. Xiao Qiuru- Former Deputy Commander of Hunan Provincial Military Command, Major General and Chairman of Hunan Orchid Association attended the meeting.

There were abundant high level orchid species available in Zixing city.Because of this natural advantage, many citizens of Zixing city were fun of cultivating orchid. In current years, high attention was placed on the orchid industry development by Zixing city government, such as establishment of orchid association, training courses for the planting of orchid, orchid exhibition, orchid trade show, etc. were carried out there. Thanks to all of those efforts, orchid industry was greatly improved in Zixing city with fruitful achievements.

Currently, a sound condition was formed in Zixing city to improve the economy along with the development of orchid industry. Because of its unique feature, orchid industry was helpful to upgrade Zixing city’s cultural level and tourism connotation to improve the development of economy, culture and tourism simultaneously. In the third Hunan Orchid Exhibition held in this March, Zixing city’s orchid was awarded with a special prize and some other grand awards for its unique local feature and profound cultural deposits.
