It was reported that the pumping ceremony for the selection of ten cultural symbols of Chenzhou city was held on August 22, 2016. The 10 public judges will vote together with the expert judges to confirm the ten symbols.

Self-recommendation and unit-recommendation are available for the application of public judges. 94 applications were received during the submission period from July 22-August 15, 2016.

Monitored by members of the selection leadership group and staffs of Chenzhou Notary Office, representatives of Chenzhou Municipal People’s Congress, Chenzhou Municipal CPPCC, and some journalists drew the applications. Huang Bin, Hu Wenhui, Wu Xubin, Huang Zhengxue, Yuan Kongbin, Xu Xian, Zhang Huping, Shu Jufang, Yu Fang’an, and Wang Mei were confirmed as the public judges finally.

It was learned that 682 cultural symbols were collected during the submission period, 20 of which were confirmed as final nominees on July 22, 2016 after the voting of experts and review of leader group members. Now, all the nominees are being posted for public voting. Once the public voting finished, the event leadership group would organize the public and expert judges for voting as well. The final ten cultural symbols would be figured out based on the scores of public voting (30%), public judges (30%), and expert judges (40%).
