On the morning of May 18, Vice Governor Sui Zhongcheng met with Oscar Rueda Garcia, the ambassador of Colombia and other foreign guests attending the show. Sui Zhongcheng extended a warm welcome to the foreign guests and briefed them on the economic and social development of Hunan Province.

Sui Zhongcheng said that Hunan is a central province of China and rich in products with a good agricultural foundation, known as the "land of fish and rice". There are many rivers and lakes and abundant tourist resources in the province. Hunan is also the hometown of Mao Zedong, the founder of New China, with profound cultural heritage. At the same time, the province is rich in mineral resources, with strong scientific and technological strength, and the rail transit, machinery and equipment, non-ferrous metallurgy and other industries are relatively developed. At present, Hunan is maintaining a good momentum of development.

He said that the China (Hunan) International Mineral & Gem Show is a professional exhibition sponsored by the Hunan Provincial Government and approved by the State Council, which has been successfully held five times. We will certainly continue to hold this session of CMGS well and strive for a better session than before. At the same time, Hunan Province and Colombia, Peru, Laos and other countries have good opportunities and broad prospects in the context of the "Belt and Road" initiative. He hoped that the ambassadors and all foreign guests would deepen their impression of Hunan and Chenzhou by attending this CMGS, and be able to introduce Hunan and Chenzhou more on the international stages by playing the role of bridge and link to make Hunan and Chenzhou go to the world better.

Ambassador Rueda said this was his first visit to Hunan and Chenzhou, it was a great honor to be invited to participate in the CMGS, and thanked for our warm reception. At the show, 6 Colombian exhibitors took part in the CMGS, bringing a lot of precious stones, such as emerald and gold. He hoped that the two sides could further improve the cooperation mechanism and become a good partner with the help of this platform. Finally, he also hoped this CMGS will be a great success.
