The reporter was learned from the Chenzhou Preparatory Committee for the CMGS that the 7th CMGS will be held in Chenzhou from May 17 to 21 next year with the theme of "Magic mineral crystals, colorful bismuth". The theme of the summit forum during the CMGS will be the "Development of CMGS and mineral gem industry".
Bismuth is another distinctive mineral compared with the "bournonite" of the 6th CMGS. According to the data, bismuth is a silver-pink metal, brittle and comminuted, with more stable chemical properties. Bismuth exists in the form of free metals and minerals in nature, including the bismuthinite, bismuthite, bismuth, copper bismuth, lead bismuth and other main minerals.
Colorful bismuth
According to the relevant information, the global bismuth metal reserves are 330,000 tons, slightly lower than the 400,000 tons of silver. The global bismuth production is expected to be around 15,000 tons a year, in which the production in China exceeds 10,000 tons, accounting for 70 %. There are more than 70 bismuth mineral deposits in China, which are distributed in 13 provinces and municipalities, with the largest reserves in Hunan, Guangdong and Jiangxi Province, accounting for about 85 % of the total reserves of the country.
It has been proved that the bismuth reserves of the Jinchuantang Deposit in Chenzhou are the largest in the world so far. The cumulative estimated amount of tin bismuth resources is 820,000 tons (including 100,000 tons of bismuth), with a potential economic value of 7 billion yuan, making China the dominant bismuth country in the world.
We look forward to unveiling the mystery of "colorful bismuth" at next year's CMGS.
