On September 12, the press conference of Guiyang County celebrating the 70th anniversary of the founding of PRC was held in the Press Release Hall of the Municipal Government.

Since the founding of New China 70 years ago, especially since the 18th National Congress of the CPC, Guiyang County has comprehensively promoted the overall layout of "five in one", coordinated and promoted the strategic layout of "Four Comprehensives", adhered to the strategy of "Innovation Leading, Open Up" and "Industry Leading and All-round Development", focused on building five strong counties, namely, economy, innovation, openness, culture and ecology, accelerated the development of seven pillar industries: non-ferrous metals, food and medicine, new energy materials, trade and logistics, cultural tourism, processing and manufacturing, and flue-cured tobacco, and made great changes and historic achievements in various undertakings.

Over the past 70 years, Guiyang County's economic strength has achieved a leap from poverty to the top ten in the province, its industrial system has achieved a leap from single structure to productive support, its urban and rural outlook has achieved a leap from remote and backward to ecologically livable, its business environment has achieved a leap from inland closure to open cooperation, and its people's livelihood has achieved a leap from inadequate food and clothing to harmonious and happy life. The county's GDP increased from 25.49 million yuan in 1952 to 37.6 billion yuan in 2018, and the per capita GDP increased from 73 yuan in 1952 to 52.250 yuan in 2018; the general budget income increased from 1.8 million yuan in 1949 to 2.343 billion yuan in 2018. The per capita disposable income of urban and rural residents in the county reached 34,360 yuan and 19,429 yuan respectively, with an average annual increase of 12.5 percent and 11.9 percent. The comprehensive strength of county economy and the overall well-off level have steadily ranked in the top ten of the province, ranked among the top 400 counties in the national county economic development potential list and the top 100 counties in the central economy, and been named the first batch of well-off counties in the province. At present, Guiyang County is striding toward the goal of "building a well-off society in an all-round way, opening a new journey towards modernization, and building a demonstration leading area of growth pole in Chenzhou City".
